Real estate sales in Boca West Country Club have been exceptionally strong for the pst 6 weeks. Properties are selling across the board. Some say it is because people realize that they might not see these prices again and so it is the time to buy. Others have sold up North and are finally able to make a purchase in Boca Raton. Still others have gotten tired of waiting and so they are making decisions. Others have been to the Stay and Play program and loved the Boca West experience. Whatever the reason we have been busier than ever. Don’t wait because as the inventory dries up prices will rise.
Many articles and studies have been stating that retirees are now looking to retire in college towns. Community landscaping is being spruced up, any improvements or redecorating will be ready and awaiting the arrival of our upcoming snowbirds. There have been many articles and discussions about whether mandatory membership attached to the purchase of a home is keeping people from purchasing in country club communities. Actually people who want the country club amenities–golf, tennis, restaurants, spa and fitness-are finding great buys in these communities. Country club buyers are willing to pay mandatory membership because they realize that these memberships protect the stability of the communities. People who do not want these amenities will, of course, find the mandatory memberships not necessary and an excessive expense.
Country clubs have been enhancing and adding amenities other than tennis and golf to attract younger members. There are more properties and choice available today because of many factors–people cannot maintain two properties-the population is aging and the “original” members are leaving-and the general economics of the world today.
Younger people are buying into country club communities and if they want to be club members they do not have an issue with the membership and dues. In fact we have sold properties where the membership is more than the cost of the property and the buyers think they have the “best deal.”
The bottom line is whether you want to buy in a country club or not, there is something for everyone!
